In the field of land surveying almost every surveyor dreams of becoming a professionally licensed surveyor or PSL. This may seem like a daunting task, but it is definitely manageable and can be achieved much easier depending on which state you are in. Some states require what is called an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree to become a professionally licensed surveyor (PLS). We know that also in a field like this it gets lonely and maintaining a team of academic and industry professionals with like-minded individuals is key to success. We will be going more in depth on what an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree is, and where you can get an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in the United States as well as some other colleges and universities who have surveying and geomatics programs.

What is an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree? How do I get an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree?

An ABET accreditation as stated on www.abet.org “provides assurance that a college or university program meets the quality standards of the profession for which that program prepares graduates”. Simply put, some colleges will get backing from ABET for a specific program and if you graduate from that program, you are ABET accredited. These accreditations provide assurance that the program meets the quality standards for the profession which that program is preparing the graduates for.
